May 1, Green Up Vermont Day
This annual event began in 1970 and is held in towns and cities across the state, including right here in Killington. Roadside trash can be dropped off in any type of bag and dropped off at the transfer station at no charge. Thank you BBQ at the rear parking lot of the fire station on Killington Road.

May 1, 36th Annual Bridgewater Raft Race
12 PM. Participants will raft on homemade rafts down 3 miles of the Ottaequechee River. Start is at the Long Trail Brewery. After party at Ramunto's in Bridgewater with the Gully Boys on stage. All event proceeds benefit the Bridgewater Fast Squad.

May 1-2, Spring Farm Festival at Billings Farm & Museum
Celebrate the start of the 28th season with an entire weekend of traditional spring farm activities, including the annual shearing of the Southdown flock.

May 2, Loyalty Day Parade
Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rutland County Post 648. Best and largest parade in the state. 2:00 PM. Music and Dancing to Follow at VWF Post.

Vermont’s natural scenic beauty is enhanced each spring when the work of Vermont artists and craftspeople can be seen firsthand during Vermont’s annual Open Studio Weekend. Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and the creative process in which Vermont artists and craftspeople invite the public to visit them in their studios during Memorial Day Weekend. More than 260 sites will be open during this event, with more than 285 artists and artisans participating.

May 22, King of the Mountain Highlander Games
In a combination of traditional Scottish highlander games and the very popular strongman competitions, the King of the Mountain Highlander Games at Killington will provide spectators a day of extraordinary feats of strength, skill and agility. The King of the Mountain Highlander Games will be staged Saturday May 22nd at the Pickle Barrel field on the Killington Access Road, and is sponsored by the Office of Economic Development and Tourism.
