Killington Vermont Weekend Vacation Winner
DISCOVER KILLINGTON GETAWAY WINNERS TOAST THE MOUNTAIN AND TOWN DURING THEIR “WINNING” WEEKEND
KILLINGTON, VT—Chris and Rebecca Bruce had vacationed in the Town of Killington in the past, but their recent Killington weekend getaway was a winner in more ways than one. Their getaway, compliments of DiscoverKillington.com, opened their eyes to a different side of the mountain.
“Amazing, beautiful, active and totally rejuvenating,” exclaimed Rebecca recalling their weekend as winners of the first DiscoverKillington.com Winter Getaway. (http://discoverkillington.com) “We’ll always be ambassadors for Killington . . . Killington really has something for everyone.”
It was the first time the Maryland residents have visited Killington without their children and they made the most of it. They explored areas of Killington they’d not seen before, according to Rebecca, taking a few hours away from skiing and riding to drive some of the town’s scenic back roads.
The Bruces were winners of the DiscoverKillington.com Winter Getaway. Visitors to the Town of Killington’s tourism website who signed up to become members of the Killington Community were eligible for a weekend getaway that included lift tickets valid at Killington and Pico resorts, lodging, and dining at their choice of participating Killington businesses. The Bruces stayed at the Birch Ridge Inn and had dinners at Sushi Yoshi and Hemingways during their stay.
“We had a blast at the top of Killington Peak on Saturday and really enjoyed the hospitality at the Birch Ridge Inn. Bill and Mary are great hosts and we really look forward to returning to Room 8,” Rebecca said. “We had a great dinner at Sushi Yoshi and we just can’t say enough good things about Hemingways! We’ll definitely be back.”
“We were thrilled that Chris and Rebecca chose our restaurant so we reciprocated with a fireside table where they enjoyed our Wine Tasting Menu,” said Linda Fondulas, co-owner of Hemingways. “It was so wonderful to see their reaction to a new Vermont wine. They were as excited about it as we were and even took home a label as one of their cherished memories of their Killington visit.”
While Chris and Rebecca made this trip without their children, Rebecca said after spending time on the Discover Killington website (http://discoverkillington.com ) she called friends and recommended they make the trip to Killington via Amtrak. And a number of her friends made the trip, she said.
The getaway promotion is part of the launch of discoverkillington.com, the Town of Killington website promoting tourism, events and activities for visitors and residents. Discoverkillington.com currently is promoting a Discover Killington Summer Getaway sweepstakes.
