Private Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides

Join us for a private horse-drawn sleigh ride through the fields of the historic and picturesque Billings Farm. You will be greeted at the Visitor Center by our friendly staff and escorted to the farm barns to board the sleigh pulled by our Percheron teams, Jim & Joe or Daisy & Purse. Snuggle under warm woolen blankets as you traverse the fields and enjoy a cup of hot-spiced cider upon your return. Included in your private visit: Horse Barn, Calf Nursery, and Dairy Barn. A Place in the Land (our Academy Award nominated film), Upon This Land Exhibit and The Museum Shop. 3/8, Killington, Pico Mountain Ski Challenge 2008, to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports.                                                     
Each year Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports hosts a winter fundraiser sponsored by Pico Mountain. Ski Challenge 2008 is a fun way for friends and family to participate in an alpine ski race regardless of ability. The goal this year is to generate over $30,000 to support Vermont Adaptive’s year round adaptive sports programs for individuals with a disability. Following the race there is a Gala Dinner Dance at the Killington Grand Hotel with a silent auction and live entertainment by the Starline Rhythm Boys. 3/15 through 3/16 Killington, Chevrolet U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix. More than 100 of the top snowboarders in the world compete in Slopestyle and Superpipe at Bear Mountain, plus live entertainment!

3/15/08 Pittsford, New England Maple Museum opens for the season. The world’s largest maple museum opens for the season. Antiques, paintings, slide show, folk art exhibits, and maple syrup samples. 3/16 Killington, Tele Fling. Join scores of other telemark enthusiasts at Pico while trying out all the latest gear in an on-snow demo brought to you by Mountain Travelers Hike and Ski Shop. Demos will be free to anyone with a lift ticket for the day or a valid season pass. There will also be specially priced telemark lessons for every ability level. 3/28 through 3/30 Statewide, Seventh Annual Vermont Maple Open House Weekend. Held at sugarhouses throughout Vermont, the Open House Weekend is the public kick-off to the maple season in Vermont and is an invitation to the public to visit one or more sugarhouses throughout the state. Activities during Open House Weekend will be different at each sugarhouse but will usually include maple sugarhouse tours where visitors can watch maple syrup being made, often sample maple products and much more. 3/29 through 3/30 Killington, Bud Light Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge. For the 28th consecutive year 200 amateur bumpers will line up to show their stuff in this marquee spring event. Spectators are invited to relax on the Bear Mountain Deck and enjoy the sunshine, barbeque and beer garden. Live music from the Bud Light Concert Series will add to the festivities on Saturday. Pre-registration is required. Only the first 200 prepaid registrants will be entered for competition. Check back at www.killington.com for more details leading up to the event.
