June 23 – Workshop “Monoprinting Techniques” with Sally D. Curtis, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM in the Gallery, 2363 Route 4, Killington, VT -802-422-3852.  Fee $50 for members; $60 non-members.

A monotype is an image that is painted on a plate, metal or Plexiglas, the painted plate is placed on the press, a damp sheet of paper is applied over it and then it is run through the press by hand.  The magic occurs when the paper is lifted off the plate and the paint is ‘set up’ giving a very rich and exciting look to the colors and surface of the paper.  Each monotype is a unique and discrete work of art.  Specialized paints and a press are used in the creation of monoprints; these will be provided for attendees.  For more information send inquiry to Sally at sdck@vermontel.net or call 802-422-3852.   Registration forms at www.killingtonartsguild.org.
