Race the Legend!
The legendary Stage Race returns for the third year in a row on Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-28 with top competitive cyclists, their families and support staff headquartered in Killington. The Killington Stage Race was revived in May 2010 after a ten-year hiatus.
The Killington Stage Race is a series of three races structured to cover a variety of terrain and distances, and set against the cool, lush landscape of Vermont's Geren Mountains. The Race kicks off at 8 AM on Saturday, May 26th at the Killington Skyeship on Route 4, with a circuit race featuring an exciting sprint every lap at the Sunrise Base Area on Route 100. Sunday's stage 2 features an 11-mile individual time trial starting near the Long Trail Brewery and finishing at the Killington Town Offices on River Road. On Monday, the 62-mile "Queen Stage" begins, featuring challenging climbing with the brutal climb up East Mountain Road and finishing at Killington's K-1 Base area.
Soectators can view the finish line at the Sunrise Base Area on Saturday, as well as the Killington K-1 Base Area on Monday. There are plenty of great vantage points for spectators throughout the region to see exciting race action all weekend. Check out Historic Plymouth Notch, scenic Routes 100 and 100A, Route 12 through Barnard and Pomfret, Route 107 and the Killington Road.
