Killington Hay Festival
Voted as a Top Ten Summer/Fall Event by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the Killington Hay Festival is back for its 4th year as a celebration of the best of the Vermont harvest! It is the perfect event for families looking to enjoy the magic of a classic New England vacation, and couples who want to take in the foliage viewing and enjoy fireside dinners and cool, starry nights.
This five-week celebration of autumn in Vermont showcases a collection of 40 giant hay animals on display at businesses throughout town as well as a variety of daily activities and weekly events.
Join the family-friendly educational scavenger hunt through the winding roads and across the mountains of Killington to find the giant hay sculptures. Get lost in the handcrafted hay maze. There's even a special Killington Hay Festival brew from Long Trail and "Hay and Stay" packages.
An Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social and Soapbox Political Rally will be held in a historical grange complete with a barbershop quarter and authentic soapbox. Politicians from local to state and national levels stand up and give their best two-minute pitches, just like the New England Town Hall meetings of yesteryear.
Numerous other events will take place as well, like a weekend-long motorcycle rally across our winding roads, a 5K & 15K Run/Walk for charity to take runners through the very heart of foliage season in the Green Mountains, and an end-of-season Septemberfest celebration, featuring horseback riding, family adventure games, an alpine slide through the trees and so much more!
