Killington Stage Race: More Than 400 Cyclists To Race

Competitive cyclists from throughout the Northeast have made it very clear they are looking forward to the return of the Killington Stage Race. More than 400 racers have registered to compete in the race, The Legend of New England bicycle racing, Memorial Day Weekend in Killington, Vermont. Once one of cycling’s top events, the Killington Stage Race is returning under the sponsorship of the Killington Economic Development and Tourism Commission, Long Trail Brewery, and the Mountain Times. The race is directed by App Gap Productions, the company that has successfully run the Green Mountain Stage Race each autumn in Vermont.
The race will take place over Memorial Day Weekend, May 29, 30 and 31 with racers, their families and support groups headquartered in Killington. There will be three stages, including a circuit race, a long individual time trial and a road race. The general category will be scored on time. The race will feature both a King and Queen of the Mountains and a Sprint Competition.
“This is a tremendous showing for the race and a sign that cycllists are as enthusiastic about the return of the race as we are,” said Gary Kessler, race director. Registration continues through May 25, 2020.
