KILLINGTON CELEBRATES ALL THINGS APPLE
Posted on October 01, 2020
KILLINGTON-- How many ways can you enjoy a Vermont apple? And how does your apple pie stand up to a little friendly competition? You can chew on these delicious questions and have lots of fun in the process while celebrating all things apple at the Killington Applefest on Saturday.
The sweetest part of autumn in Vermont will be on display and ready for sampling Saturday from 10 until 2 at the Little White Church on Route 4 in Killington. In addition to apples, the festival will include apple baked goods, apple cider, apples jams and jellies and other fall products for eating and for sale.
There’s even an apple pie contest. Contestants can pick up an application at the Little White Church in advance or Saturday prior to entering their pie. Pies should be at the church by 9:30 and include a list of ingredients and be presented in a recyclable tin pan.
“We’re really fortunate that the Little White Church is sponsoring its Applefest. Residents and visitors alike will have an opportunity to enjoy Killington in autumn and one of Vermont’s tastiest fall treats,” said Seth Webb, director of Killington Tourism and Economic Development. “It’s a great fit with our Hay Festival and the other events we’re providing during the fall season.”
Killington celebrates fall with the Killington Hay Festival and Grass Menagerie, a month-long series of events running through Columbus Day. The Grass Menagerie is a collection of 35 massive hay structures decorating the lawns of businesses throughout the community.
