KILLINGTON THROWING A BIG PARTY TO PREVIEW
THE SEASON’S BIGGEST EVENT: WINTER DEW TOUR AT KILLINGTON
KILLINGTON, VT-- Killington skiers, snowboarders and residents are invited to attend the Dew Tour Preview Party après ski Sunday, December 19th, to celebrate the season’s biggest event: The Winter Dew Tour at Killington. The world’s greatest on-snow athletes and an estimated 25,000 of their closest friends are scheduled to descend upon Killington January 20-23 for the Winter Dew Tour, the premier winter sports event broadcast to a world-wide audience on NBC. The December 19th Preview Party will include giveaways, food and beverage specials and big-screen TV coverage of the Winter Dew Tour’s first stop in Breckenridge, Colo.
“The Town of Killington and Killington Resort are teaming up to host this kickoff party and energize skiers, riders, residents and visitors about the Killington stop for the Winter Dew Tour,” said Seth Webb, Director of the Killington Office of Economic Development and Tourism. “We’ll talk about what we can expect as a community and how we can all lend a hand to make this a successful event for the resort, the community and the State of Vermont. And we’ll watch the final day’s television live coverage of the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge on NBC.”
The Killington Winter Dew Tour Preview Party will be held from 4-6pm at the Long Trail Pub at Killington Resort’s Snowshed Lodge and feature tremendous prize drawings that include ski and snowboard gear, Winter Dew Tour giveaways, and Winter Dew Tour Killington Mega Passes that gains access to events, VIP viewing, athlete autographs, a Friday evening concert and parties during the Killington Winter Dew Tour event. The resort and town will detail the benefits to be derived from Killington Winter Dew Tour national media coverage and the opportunities to volunteer to assist in producing this exciting world-class event.
“This truly is a collaborative effort between the town and resort,” said Killington Marketing Director Rob Megnin. “It’s a tremendous opportunity for us to show the entire country we’re a world-class destination. We’ve made a huge investment to bring the Winter Dew Tour to Killington and believe it will be a huge boost for the entire community.
The Winter Dew Tour features the world’s best athletes in freestyle skiing and snowboarding in the superpipe and slopeside disciplines. The other two stops on the 2010-2011 Winter Dew Tour include Breckenridge, Colo. and Snowbasin, Utah. The event will be featured live on NBC domestically and live on Eurosport2 internationally along with additional programming on USA Network and MTV 2.
Winter Dew Tour athletes include superpipe high flyer Simon Dumont and Vermont’s own Olympic Champion Kelly Clark. The Tour is sponsored by Mountain Dew, Toyota, Nike 6.0, Verizon, MATADOR Beef Jerky, Power Bar, Paul Mitchell, Ball Park and National Guard.
