Killington Resort named Top 10 Ski/Snowboard resort
Posted on November 17, 2020
Killington Resort has been named by the travel site Away.com as one of the Top 10 Ski/Ride Resorts in North America and is the only resort in the Eastern half of the continent to make the prestigious list.
“The Beast of the East is the region’s largest resort and offers something for everyone. With recent additions to neighboring Pico, there are now seven distinct peaks to explore,” the site said in its Top 10 Ski/Ride Resort report. “Not only can you find what you want, you can find it separated from other terrain. Experts flock to Bear Mountain, Skye Peak and the Canyon. Intermediates love Needle’s Eye and Snowdon. The novice area at Snowshed can get crowded, but it stands apart from speeding experts. Add on Pico, a superb mountain in itself, and you’ve got the complete picture.”
Rounding out the Top 10 are Alta, Arapahoe Basin, Jackson Hole, Mammoth Mountain, Sun Valley, Taos, The Canyons, Vail and Whistler-Blackcomb.
“That’s pretty impressive company for our very impressive resort,” said Dariece Kirby-Kline, Events Producer for the Town of Killington. “Killington Resort long has been recognized as the largest and most comprehensive winter destination resort in the country, it’s great that more and more travel experts are discovering it’s also one of the very best.”
“The resort is famous for attracting ski clubs and people sharing houses, which fosters a hard-charging party sensibility that is heartily reinforced by numerous bars strung along the access road,” continues away.com. “What’s New: The New Skye Peak Express has replaced the Skye Peak Quad, reducing the ride time from 14 minutes to less than five minutes, allowing guests improved access to Bear Mountain and Killington’s long intermediate cruising trails. And The Stash, Burton’s signature all-natural terrain park, is one of only five in the world, located at Killington’s Bear Mountain.”
Killington is located in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains and offers diverse dining and lodging opportunities for ski/ride vacationers. Additional information on four-season vacations in Killington, Vermont is available at discoverkillington.com.
