Base Camp Outfitters Disc Golf Course

We are glad to announce the opening of our new 18 hole disc golf course. BCODG It utilizes many of our nordic ski trails and meanders throughout a beautiful section of new england forest. The course is a 4573 foot layout with both blue and white tee boxes. This is the first official Disc Golf course in all Rutland county and the many who have played it love it. Whether you are a pro or just looking for some summer fun you will enjoy this course and activity. Great for the whole family... Birthday parties, family gatherings, wedding weekends or just some friends getting together we can put together a mini tournament for you. Simply give us a call or e-mail us and we can make it happen. RATES GREEN FEES $5.00 DISC RENTALS $2.00 MEMBERSHIP $30.00 There will be a league night starting Tuesday May 25 at 5:00. League night will then continue on every Tuesday night and we will mix-up games and teams as we go. You do not have to be a member to play league. For more info call. 802-775-0166

Chaffee Art Center

The Chaffee Art Center is the public "face" of the Rutland Area Art Association, a community resource that has provided Vermonters with opportunities to learn about and experience the visual arts for nearly fifty years. Friendly Penguin Day Care

The Friendly Penguin Day Care provides indoor and optional outdoor activities, offering state-licensed and fully equipped facilities with age appropriate toys and games. Throughout the day, children can explore and play in a nurturing environment that promotes creativity, physical, emotional and intellectual development. Time is provided each day for arts and crafts, painting, stories and songs. The program includes snacks and a nutritious lunch with the full day option. Parents should provide a change of clothing, diapers, wipes, and formula and/or food if special dietary needs exist. Parents are encouraged to check in at any time through the receptionist. All childcare rooms have a caregiver certified in infant and toddler C.P.R. Reservations require. Call for details.

Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center

Visit the Rock Climbing Center, which has walls that stand 25' tall and 30 top rope stations spread over 8,000 square feet of indoor climbing. The surfaces are brilliantly painted with murals ranging from desert sandstone to Yosemite National Park. The staff provides instruction for all skill levels, ranging from first time beginners to specialized clinics for experienced climbers. We provide all rental equipment (shoes and harnesses) for climbers.

The New England Maple Museum is conveniently located in the heart of Maple Country, nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains, where Vermont's finest maple syrup is made. Handcrafted raw whole milk cheese, produced using one of America's oldest cheese recipes. Noted for its smooth texture and creamy taste, Plymouth is the second oldest cheese operation in the US. Our factory was founded in 1890 by John Coolidge, the father of President Calvin Coolidge. We are located 15 minutes from Killington on Rte100A at the Calvin Coolidge Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, VT. President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site

President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site

The Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is considered one of the best preserved Presidential sites in the nation. In addition to the homestead, visitors may tour the Plymouth Cheese Factory - established by the President's father - and sample the granular curd cheese produced there. Other buildings open to the public include the Cilley General Store, the Post Office, the Wilder Restaurant (serving lunch), the church, several barns displaying farming tools of the era, the dance hall that served as the Summer White House, and the home where the future President was born. May 29 to October 17, 2020 Open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The site's office, located in the Aldrich House,is open weekdays year-round and has exhibits especially designed for winter visitors

The Vermont Institute of Natural Science Entices and Excites People to Care for the Natural World. VINS’ programs and services engage and instill in people of all backgrounds a desire to care for the wildlife and diverse natural habitats they encounter in their daily lives. We offer relevant environmental education programs for adults, families, and school children; partner with leading conservation organizations to promote environmental science field research; and operate New England’s premier avian wildlife rehabilitation clinic at the VINS Nature Center.
